Cat Oasis Facilities

At Royal Maine Coons, we put tremendous pride not just into our cats and kittens, but also our outstanding facilities.

Over the years, we have made major upgrades to every aspect of our Cattery to make our cats and kittens extremely happy, healthy and secure, which has landed us as one of the best in the industry. Let us share some of our Cattery with you.

The Main Cattery

Only the best and most engaging objects go into our facilities. We want our cats to be mentally and physically engaged, have sanitary conditions, and the best high-tech amenities.

The Main Cattery consists of over 1200sf of open space for our female cats and their kittens. It includes 8 windows for lots of south facing light, new waterproof plank flooring, multiple cat trees that are built to hold the heaviest cats, a double-sinked wet bar for cleaning, feeding, etc, a refrigerator for storing important medications and other items that require cooling/freezing.

The Cattery has 4 cameras for constant monitoring and is shared with families who have reserved one of the kittens that is located in this space.

We provide a wide range of interactive "toys" to engage their minds and bodies while they grow, learn and play.

We also include multiple double filtered water fountains that monitor intake and water levels, as well as a temperature controlled Dyson HEPA Air Purifier that continuously monitors air quality, temperature, humidity and potentially harmful fumes, including PM2.5, PM10, HCHO, VOCs, NO2, and will alert me immediately if any of these levels are out of safe range.

We have a high mounted LED TV to play every couple days for a few hours so they become used to many different toned voices, music and sounds. This makes them much more secure when they enter their forever environments when they go home.

Their lighting is LED, and fully adjustable via remote.

The Nursery

Our Nursery is second to none. It was custom designed by me for the very best experience for our Queens during the birthing process. They each have a private Kittening Suite that is very spacious and includes the best of everything for them. They have their own 1" memory foam kittening pad, an elevated 2" gel memory foam bed to rest away from their kittens, a private Litter Robot 4, a Litter Robot Automatic Feeder, a double filtered water fountain that monitors water intake and levels, and plenty of space to stretch their legs.

I have a very comfortable bed in the large nursery and stay with my Queens before, during and after birthing. They are comforted by my presence and grateful for my assistance when it is necessary.

Each Kittening Suite has 3 cameras for constant monitoring and is shared with families who have reserved one of the kittens from that litter.

The Kittening Suites are solid white, and made of material that is easy to keep very clean and disinfected. All custom pads and beds are waterproof and the coverings are washable. The floors are waterproof plank flooring and are vacuumed daily and disinfected weekly.

The Nursery also contains a large amount of supplies, meds, a small refrigerator for vaccinations and other meds, a bottle warmer in case hand feeding is necessary, adjustable lighting all around via remote.

We also include a Dyson HEPA Air Purifier that continuously monitors air quality, temperature, humidity and potentially harmful fumes, including PM2.5, PM10, HCHO, VOCs, NO2, and will alert me immediately if any of these levels are out of safe range. All lighting is LED, and adjustable via remote.

The Sire Suites

Our Sires are always kept separate from our Queens and kittens. They have their own beautiful Suites that are bright and sunny.

We maintain two Sire Suites. Their spacious accommodations includes 7 south facing windows as well as a skylight in one Suite, and 10 windows in the other. They love bird watching and enjoy the beautiful outdoor views.

Each Sire Suite has two Sires each, two Litter Robot 4's in each Suite, a Litter Robot Automatic Feeder, double filtered water fountains that monitor water intake, a running wheel, and the best cat trees available, made to withstand their heavy weight. There are plenty of cat beds and toys to occupy themselves, relax and enjoy. And none of them ever spray. We believe it is because they are very happy and well cared for.

We also include a Dyson HEPA Air Purifier in each Sire Suite that continuously monitors air quality, temperature, humidity and potentially harmful fumes, including PM2.5, PM10, HCHO, VOCs, NO2, and will alert me immediately if any of these levels are out of safe range.

Reception

We have a dedicated Reception for our Kitten families to receive their new family members, complete with a guest bathroom. Before they arrive, we prepare all their necessary paperwork in an organized binder, as well as a Royal Maine Coons custom Go-Bag with food, water, toys, and several other items.

Before we bring their beautiful kitten to them, we review all the paperwork, provide instructions, answer any questions, prepare their included airline-approved travel crate, and while we retrieve their kitten, they are free to brows our retail area for any food, toys, treats or other items they may want to take with them.

When I return with their kittens, their eyes often swell with tears of joy as I hand them their new Maine Coon kitten. I encourage them to sit with their kitten for a few minutes so that the kitten can hear their voice, smell their scent, and receive some of the love that they will receive for the rest of their lives.

This is also the time for our Photo-Op, which is my personal way of saying goodbye to the precious kitten that I cared for for almost 4 months. I want to always remember them with their new family, and remember the love in their eyes.

After this, we carefully load the kitten into their crate and walk them to their vehicle to see them off, knowing that they are on their way to live their best lives.

Security

Our cats and our Cattery are very valuable in so many ways. We take extraordinary precautions to keep them all safe at all times. We have a substantial security system that connects directly to the police, plus an additional 34 cameras on site at all times.

We do not allow people to drop by unannounced. Visitors are welcome by appointment only for those interested in a specific kitten. We do not allow visitors who just want to come see our animals for fun, though we can understand why they would want to.

Ours is a "closed" cattery, meaning that we do not let anyone into the areas where are cats and kittens are. This is to prevent any outside pathogens to enter our cattery. This is for the health and safety of our cats and kittens.

Social Media-Live Feeds

We are very active on Social Media. We provide many videos and live feeds which can be viewed right from our website under Cattery Videos.

We provide additional posts and important updates on our Facebook page, and additional content on Instagram and TikTok.

We are working on providing more educational content for those interested in what it is like owning a Cattery, how we care for our animals, and even our infants. We also be offering Live Feeds of our Queens giving birth for those who wish to experience this miraculous event.
